As an increasing number of technologies become available, it is critical to understand their role in the general marketplace and how they can best be incorporated in routine building operations to decrease energy consumption. Data modeling and analysis techniques provide opportunity to further develop and advance the state of the technology. Over the last 25 years, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) staff has worked to evaluate and improve performance monitoring tools for energy savings in commercial buildings. Smart Energy Analytics Campaign Most recently, we’ve just completed the Smart Energy Analytics Campaign, supporting the adoption of EMIS technology. Campaign participants used their EMIS to enable millions of dollars of savings in annual energy costs, and through our research, we developed the largest dataset of EMIS costs and benefits ever compiled. We welcome others to take advantage of this research; visit the Campaign website here , and you’ll find a comprehensive EMIS toolkit on the Better Buildings website here .
